2011 International Conference and Workshop on TEFL & Applied Linguistics:
Education for English Professions and Other Uses: Teaching Decisions & Educational Policies on All Levels
Time:March 11-12, 2011
To provide an access among many to rich ideas on educational excellence, Ming Chuan University started holding its annual conference on TEFL and Applied Linguistics in 1999. Since then, twelve conferences have been held, with each attracting 300-400 conference attendees including scholars coming from the international and local regions as well as language teachers and prospective teachers. Over the past few years, the overarching themes of this annual conference have always reflected important trends and issues on language learning and teaching, such as “English Education for Internationalization and Intercultural Understanding in Innovations and Challenges” for the conference in 2008, “Teacher Empowerment and Language Acquisition in EFL Contexts” for the year of 2009, and “Meeting the Challenges of communication-oriented Language Teaching: Effective Teaching Strategies and Techniques” for 2010. Numerous famed applied linguists and scholars have gathered to give keynote speeches (4-6 each year), conduct panel discussions, and present research findings and directions. With inclusive support and recognition from both its attendees and the university itself, this conference will continue to take effort in keeping its quality and hence making contribution to the field of language education.
